Highway 2 are an outdoor activity company based in Montrose on the North East coast of Scotland. Our desire to share knowledge and experience is key to the company’s ethos. Being members of the Outdoor Angus Group we share a passion for our area and activities. Highway 2 are a company committed to providing up to date and relevant outdoor skills training and as such are members of The Institute of Outdoor Learning, National Navigation Award Scheme and The Mountain Leader Training Association.
Qualified Instructors
We do on occasions bring in qualified instructors to help out on activities. These instructors have a passion for the outdoors and are fully committed to providing a safe enjoyable experience for all.
Darren Morgan
An ex Royal Marines Commando who holds the much accredited Mountaineering Instructors Certificate (MIC). He has been instructing in the outdoors for over 20 years and has a wealth of experience both in the UK and abroad. He has many qualifications in other disciplines including Kayaking and Skiing. Darren runs Gulabin Lodge and Cairnwell Mountain Sports in Glenshee.
Stewart Richardson
Stewart has spent many years in the outdoors and is a keen climber and hillwalker . He is a very experienced instructor and walking guide and has led countless trips throughout Scotland. Stewart holds both ML and SPA awards and runs Caledonian Adventures.
A former engineer in the pharmaceutical industry. Michael has been active in the outdoors for nearly 20 years. He has completed all of Scotland’s 284 Munros twice and has a vast knowledge of the Scottish Mountains. Michael holds a variety of outdoor qualifications including both Summer and Winter Mountain Leader Awards, Single Pitch Award, Trail Cycle Award and others. He has a wealth of experience in First Aid Instruction and is a WEMSI Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician. In his spare time Michael enjoys playing guitar, listening to Rock music and following the Scottish National Football team
